Question
When I hover over a point with my mouse, a window should appear, allowing me to move or delete the point. However, after a while, the window doesn't appear when hovering over a point, and point selection doesn't work. Restarting the system seems to work, but I'm wondering why this happens.

Thank you for asking.
You can try turning the system variable EXTENDEDGRIPS to ON, and this should resolve the issue.
